Terms of Use

Short version: RankupRL is a personal-use desktop app provided as-is. Use it responsibly, respect the terms of the third-party services it integrates with, and don't expect any warranties from a one-developer hobby project.

1. Acceptance

By installing or using the RankupRL desktop application, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the application.

2. Personal use

RankupRL is provided for personal, non-commercial use by individual Rocket League players. It is a hobby project; there is no service-level agreement, no support contract, and no warranty of any kind.

3. Third-party services

RankupRL interacts with services operated by third parties, including Psyonix / Epic Games (Rocket League and Epic Account Services), Valve (Steam), Google, and Tracker Network. Your use of those services through RankupRL is also governed by their respective terms and policies. You are responsible for complying with them.

RankupRL is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of these companies. "Rocket League," "Epic Games," "Steam," "Google," and "Tracker Network" are trademarks of their respective owners.

4. Your account responsibilities

When you sign in via Steam, Epic, or Google, you are granting RankupRL access to your account on those services within the scopes you consent to. You are responsible for:

Keeping your accounts on those services secure.
Revoking RankupRL's access if you suspect misuse — see the privacy policy for how.
Not using RankupRL in ways that violate the terms of those services (e.g., scraping at abusive rates, impersonating another user).

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use RankupRL to harass, defame, or harm other Rocket League players.
Use RankupRL in a way that abuses the rate limits of third-party APIs.
Reverse-engineer RankupRL or its embedded components for purposes that violate third-party terms (e.g., to circumvent anti-cheat or to build cheating tools).
Redistribute or sell RankupRL or any modified version of it as your own work.

6. No warranty

RankupRL is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. The maintainer is not liable for any data loss, account issues, or other damages arising from your use of the application.

7. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of RankupRL after a change means you accept the revised terms.

8. Termination

You can stop using RankupRL at any time by uninstalling it and deleting its data directory (see Section 7 of the privacy policy). The maintainer reserves the right to discontinue development at any time without notice.
